Certain Dri Deodorant – The Best Deodorant For Excessive Sweating
I have written a lot about hyperhidrosis over the years. Excessive sweating becomes more of a problem for men and women as they age. I do not like being a sweaty guy in public. I have tried every solution to keep my arm pits dry. The first solution I found was sweat proof undershirts. These definitely work and I wear them to this day. They have pads that capture the sweat around your armpit so it doesn’t leak through to your main shirt. But sometimes I just want to wear a single dress shirt or t-shirt. I don’t want to have a pad of sweat collecting in my arm pit. Certain Dri deodorant has been my solution.

What Is The Active Ingredient In Certain Dri?
The active ingredient in Certain Dri deodorant is Aluminum Chloride. The strength of the over the counter variety is 12%. It offers up to 72 hours of protection against odor and perspiration. Certain Dri is different than normal deodorants. You need to apply it at night when you armpits are completely dry. This means you need to wait ten or fifteen minutes after showing. Unfortunately, it can cause skin irritation. This has subsided over time for me. But at first it would make my armpits itchy and uncomfortable. It was a trade off I was willing to make.
What Is The Most Effective Antiperspirant?
Trust me, I have tried a lot of deodorants and nothing would quite work. I believe Certain Dri to be the most effect antiperspirant. It is really comes down to 12% Aluminum Chloride.

Certain Dri Prescription Strength
Certain Dri markets the 12% Aluminum Chloride strength as being “prescription strength”. I don’t think this is really true. It is available over the counter at most stores. Lately, I have discovered something that a prescription strength does exist. It is called Drysol.
Drysol Dab On
The prescription grade Aluminum Chloride deodorant is called Drysol Dab On. The active ingredient is 20% Aluminum Chloride. I recommend this if Certain Dri is not getting the job done. The nice thing about the higher potency stuff is you only have to apply it 3 days a week. If you accidently forget one day you won’t be sweating through your shirt. I was told that after using prescription Drysol for awhile some users can apply it even less frequently and still get good results.
Certain Dri Side Effects

Aluminum Chloride Deodorant
Are you curious how Aluminum Chloride deodorants work? Aluminum chloride compounds react to sweat. The aluminum salts create a gel like substance that temporarily plugs the sweat ducts. This result is that sweat is blocked from reaching the skins surface. Is this healthy? Probably not. In terms of evolution, humans sweat to control our body temperature. If excessive sweating is not an issue use regular deodorants. But for those with hyperhidrosis Certain Dri deodorant is a lifesaver.
